The paperback version of Hunter is now uploaded to Ingram Spark. I’ve seen the PDF proof and have ordered a physical copy. Should have it in about 10 days, so unless it’s really crappy, I’m on schedule to make the November 6th launch.
It’s told in 4 books — each one available through Smashwords, or soon will be, for $.99 each. The paperback will be $14.95 and worth the money; it’s going to have an extra bit included, at the end, showing what happened between books 1 and 2.
Book Three is available from this coming Friday, Book Four beginning on October 30th.
This book is very MM and raw, with lots of non-con, sexual slavery, kidnapping, brutality, bondage (though not really BDSM) and a strong critique of racism, capitalism and our supposed system of justice mixed in.
I may even do a coloring book for it…maybe…if I get enough interest…
In just about every way you can imagine. I’m finalizing the coda I added to the paperback edition, and it’s proving to be difficult to settle in. It makes the book 306 pages (290 of story text) and 129,000+ words. It’s twice as long as I intended, but I like how it’s turned out. Lots of sex, some drugs, international intrigue, critiques of our so-called system of justice and of capitalism run amok…my usual things.
So far, two of the books are available in e-format via Smashwords, with a 3rd to come out on October 16th (available for preorder, right now) and the last to be on the 30th (available for preorder on the 16th). Then the paperback arrives on November 6th. Links below.
Okay, here’s the cover of the paperback for Hunter, with crop area and some bleed. I’m submitting today along with the text, and if all goes well, the book will be available on November 6th. It’s 127,668 words and 306 pages long, 289 of which are text…the rest is just bullshit stuff you need to make it look professional. Format is 6×9″ and the price will be $14.95.
It’s taking that long to give me time to get a printed proof. I learned the hard way sometimes a PDF proof just don’t have the ability to show mistakes or that it’s been set up improperly.
Book One is available in ebook, and Book Two will be available on October 2nd. Books Three and Dour will be available on October 16th and 30th, respectively. All four books and a bonus section will be in the paperback.
I never intended this book to be this long…but when the story takes over and the characters are willing to lead you through it, you’d be a fool not to jump in. I just hope people have as much fun reading it as I had writing it.
I’m going back over Hunter and its four parts break nicely into connected novellas, so I’m back on the 4 e-books train. Book one is as follows:
BOOK ONE: WHEN I GO HUNTING…
Hunter is a businessman who’s found his niche — men. Good-looking men to be provided to a network that will then offer them to a very wealthy, very exclusive clientele. That these men are usually straight and unwilling is beside the point.
He takes great joy in fulfilling orders that come his way. However, his greatest pleasure comes from handling special orders, where he has to track down and capture a man who has been specifically chosen, no matter what the cost.
Book One begins with him on his latest job — providing a young, well-known Brazilian model to a regular client. But things aren’t going exactly as planned, for a change, and during a lull Hunter reflects on how he first got into the business, wonders if he’s been at it for too long, and begins to suspect someone is out to get him.
All because he’s so good at his chosen profession…maybe too good…
I’m wondering if releasing Hunter in 4 parts as ebooks is such a good idea. It almost seems greedy. Am I being avaricious, here? Or is it just my lazy nature taking over? I’d have to work up four slightly different covers then one for the paperback. Use 5 ISBNs, since Smashwords will require one for each upload. And connect everything to my website, in some way…which sounds like a lot of work.
I haven’t done any other of my books in this manner, so maybe I’m just trepidatious about it. I’d like to think that would build up interest in the book, and I’m adding a special addendum that won’t be available in e-book…unless I do an e-book that has all the parts in it to go along with the paperback…which sounds really…I dunno…cheesy.
Besides, I might also have to do separate synopses for each offering. I just wanna do this one…
…though I do need to remove Taboo Booxxx’s logo from it., since that fell apart.
Okay…I think I’ve talked myself out of doing a four separate ebooks…
Okay…the deal with Taboo BooxXx came apart because they were hit hard by Covid-19, so I’m back to self-publishing. To be honest, I’m not sorry. I’d have had the first stage of the book out and available, by now.
Supposedly I’m getting their notes, but considering how long it took them to get around to informing me of their issues, I’m not waiting. This weekend, I’ll dive back into the book, do another pass on it then start the process for issuing the first section.
My goal is to have the four parts done and the paperback available by Thanksgiving. It’s a dark book…what’s now referred to as Literotica…so I don’t expect huge sales. I’ll pop it onto the same website page as Underground Guy and The Beast in the Nothing Room. We can run from there.
I’m close to a second draft of Dair’s Window, which is a lot more mainstream than most of my books. If I can make it happen, I’ll have this out before Christmas…but I don’t want to rush it. This second draft is proving to be the one that finally solidifies the characters so I can go back through and mix and match the structure, better. It’s on the complicated side.
I’ve also started up a new Facebook page just for my books — facebook.com/michel.sullivan.54 — because Facebook decided this GIF was porn so slammed me into jail on my main FB page.
You see more on a fucking beach, let alone in postings of naked asses all over Facebook. But I know I’ve got people out to snap at me for my politics, so they may have something to do with it. Not that I’m being paranoid…
